Welcome to American Protégé Music Competitions

American Protégé is designed for young musicians, actors and singers on the path to a successful career. We invite all talented youth to demonstrate their potential during American Protégé 2017-2018 Season. A new season’s program has been announced and is in full progress offering a number of music competitions, including new ones, where the participants will have an opportunity to showcase their unique talents.


The American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music 2016, International Piano and Strings Competition 2017, International Concerto Competition 2017, Woodwinds and Brass Competition 2016, International Vocal Competition 2017 and International Music Talent Competition Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 were a great success with 35 concerts at Carnegie Hall. We continue to grow and in 2016-2017 our Competitions attracted the largest number of very competitive applicants on record. They hail from every corner of the world including various parts of the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Lithuania, Israel, Bahrain, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Japan, China, India, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

American Protégé offers an unprecedented opportunity for all instrumentalists, singers, and ensembles alike, to escalate the scope of their talents to new heights. Up to twenty five applicants of the American Protégé Summer Gala Concert at Stern will be offered to perform at the world’s most illustrious music venue: the 2,800-seat Isaac Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

Pianist Brandon Goldberg, a winner of American Protege International Talent Music Competition, Spring 2015, is not only a virtuoso, he’s also given TED Talks, and he’ll wow you with his wisdom.

 

Arthur Zhou in the KHOU 11 NEWS (March 8, 2016):


SUGAR LAND, Texas — It’s been said that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart began composing at the age of 5. That happens to be the same tender age as Arthur Zhou of Sugar Land. Arthur is naturally gifted enough to have won first place in the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition…

Arthur tied for the youngest winner in this group. It’s a competition entered by thousands around the world and one he and Julianne, also entered and won, playing a duet together. With the win comes a trip to Carnegie Hall and New York City where Arthur has been dying to go. Now Arthur has his eyes set on another Big Apple landmark: the Statue of Liberty. The Zhous head to New York City in May.

This talented and adorable young lady was back with more to chat with Ellen about, and an incredible performance: a First Prize Winner in the Young Musicians Category of the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition 2013.

A once homeless Florida college student is now realizing his dreams after placing in a piano competition that will allow him to perform at Carnegie Hall. James Matthews, 24, sometimes slept in his instructor’s piano studio for shelter while he was a student at Florida Southern College… In January, one of his instructors there suggested he submit a video of himself performing Sergei Prokofiev’s “Piano Sonata No. 7″ for the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition 2014.After performing at the American Protege Winners Recital on April 20th, James Matthews was invited to the Ellen DeGeneres TV Show on April 25th, 2014.

Elias Phoenix, 7, out of Brandon, Florida, entered the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition Fall 2013 in November 2013 and performed at the Winners Recital at Carnegie Hall. After winning the American Protégé Competition, Elias has performed twice as a featured guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, has been featured on The Today Show, People Magazine, and other local and National news and media outlets.
