International Music Talent Competition 2011

The American Protégé International Music Talent Competition 2011 is open to all instrumentalists (piano, winds, strings, brass, traditional, etc), vocalists and traditional folk and jazz groups of all nationalities and countries.

American Protégé is looking for genuinely talented people, who have creativity and stage charisma.

We invite talented performers of any age and genre to participate in the Competition

First Place Winners will perform on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City

Special awards will be granted based on the judges recommendations. Second Place and Honorable Mention winners will perform at other New York City venues.

 Star Performer Award Winner

 

Born in Bologna, Italy, Benedetta Orsi started her career at the age of 20, studying at the Royal Accademia Filarmonica with the tenor Sergio Bertocchi and the pianist Paola Molinari. She made masterclasses with the soprano Luciana Serra, the baritone Renato Bruson and the mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza. In 2004 she enrolled at the Conservatory of Modena, Italy, graduating after four years with the soprano Tiziana Tramonti. She has recently participated in many international singing competitions with outstanding results that include “Music Academy of the West” with Miss Marilyn Horne in New York, the “Rolando Nicolosi's International Competition” in Italy, “The Bidu Sayao International Singing Competition” in Belo Horizonte, Brasil and the victory of the Audience Award and the Special Price of the Italian Music Federation at the 28° International singing Competition “Piero Boni”, in Italy. In May 2010 she made her debut in the role of Maddalena in Verdi's “Rigoletto” in Bologna, Italy and in 2011 the role of Teresa in Bellini's “Sonnambula” in Torin, Italy. Performances in sacred opera include Pergolesi's “Staber Mater”, Rossini's “Petite Messe Solennelle”, Handel's “Messiah” and Donizetti's “Messa da Requiem” and many other in Ms. Orsi’s past career. She took part in many recitals and concerts in Bologna, Modena, Trapani, Rome, Milan, at the Montefeltro Festival in Novafeltria, Rimini (Italy), in Madrid, Spain and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Currently, Ms. Orsi is improving her skills with her vocal coach Mr. Fred Carama, and acting coach Mr. Chuck Hudson in New York City.
